Two day plastering course (Now with 0ptional third day and complimentary 33 minute DVD)
Day one: 9.15am to 4.30pm
Firstly we discuss each students project to ensure we cover their own specific requirements.
This day then concentrates on tuition in trowel control. This is followed by demonstrations on how to apply various backing coats of:
1. Plasterboard for dot & dab and timber stud applications.
2. Sand/cement and Gypsum based base coats to brick/block walls. This will prove most useful to those renovating existing, older properties.
3. Patching to existing plaster to achieve a flat finish.
4. Fixing of basecoat corner beads and skim beads.
The day concludes with a full skimming demonstration followed by students skim coating their own plasterboard walls.

Day two: 9.15am to 4.30pm
No more demonstrations. After a short re-cap this day is spent applying a finish coat to walls and a small ceiling. A real hands on day. Hard to believe but, with a maximum of only 3 students on a course, I will teach you to plaster to a good standard in just 2 days.
This day concludes with a questions and answers session. This will also cover individual projects being undertaken.
Students leave with a written course summary and a complimentary DVD as a permanent reminder of the plastering techniques learnt.
Optional third day:
Although not normally necessary, students who wish to continue their course into a third day may do so at the end of their 2 day course for a minimal fee of £125.00. No advance booking is required for this day and it can be designed to suit your individual needs. Possibly extra basecoat or skimming practice or the fixing of plasterboard to stud walls. This may give more confidence to those with a larger project in mind. Full details on request.
General
Lunch is included in the course fee together with tea and coffee throughout the day. A telephone and email backup service is also in place for anyone experiencing any difficulty or wanting further advice after their course.
